Planning
We can't stress how important planning is to a successful fence installation. Factors to consider are...
Type of animal to be fenced (determines number of lines and minimum shock an energizer must deliver after voltage loss at the far end of your fence).
Length of fence required, including number of fence lines and shape of layout.
Location of energizers with regard to source of power and fence. This will determine the number of energizers, whether they need to be main or battery powered, and the length of ElectroBraid™ they will electrify.
Warning: don't ever use two energizers on one length of fence - This can result in random high voltage pulses which can permanently damage both energizers.
Length of supply lines to energizers (determined by distance of energizers from power source).
Position of gates and roadways.
Direction of current (helpful in troubleshooting).
Location of cutout switches (helpful in troubleshooting and gate operation).
Tip: an aid to planning is to place a clear sheet of plastic over a scaled map or Aerial photograph of your property allowing all of these questions to be easily planned for and answered.
